Darren Wiper has been appointed as the Executive Chef for the latest beach front dining venture of Mom Luang Tri Devakul better known as Mom Tri. Chef Darren, originally from the UK, worked at fine dining restaurants in Bermuda and the French Côte d’Azur. In Bermuda he was Executive Chef at the 5-star Fresco’s restaurant & wine bar which specializes in culinary feasts of 8 and 10 courses of Mediterranean cuisine. Prior to this he was Chef at the Relais des Coches restaurant in Tourrettes Sur Loup, France. Chef Darren’s expertise brings a new kind of cuisine to Phuket; dishes are tantalizing, original and creative. His innovative tapas and Mediterranean dishes are served in the two open air restaurants at Mom Tri's Oasis, Oasis Spring and Oasis On The Sea.
Chef Jean-Noël Lumineau joined Mom Tri’s Restaurants as a consultant in September 2008. The first Maître-Cuisinier de France working in Thailand, his coveted title indicates chefs of the highest classification; there are only about 300 chefs with this title worldwide.
Chef Lumineau became a member of this elite culinary association over 12 years ago. The mission of the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France is to maintain and promote the quality and prestige of French cuisine with the added goal of training and nurturing young culinary professionals. The recognition distinguishes Chef Lumineau as belonging to a renowned cultural tradition and as a professional whose technique attains the level of art.
